A leader is defined by Google as “the person who leads or commands a group, organization or country. There are several types of leaders and no two leaders are the same. There are good leaders such Warren Buffet and General Joe Dunford, but there are also bad leaders such a Hitler and Stalin. Hitler and Stalin were not necessarily bad leaders as they convinced entire countries to follow them, they were just bad people and made the wrong decisions with the power that they had. You may look up to someone and think that you can’t be a good leader because your not like them. Well, that’s not true. Just because you don’t have the exact same traits as them doesn’t mean you can’t be just as good of a leader. In an article by https://www.businessnewsdaily.com/9789-leadership-types.html they list 9 diverse types of leaders and their strengths. Every type of leader is equal in their own way of being effective, and no leader is the same as someone else. We all have our qualities and things we may need to work on, but we are all different and unique leaders in our own way, and just because we lead differently then someone else doesn’t mean that’s its the wrong way, it just means you’re a different kind of leader. Procrastination is that we are busy with some irrelevant things and evade what we really should do. It is like I know that I need to send this blog to Mr. Hortness before Friday, and I start to write this blog on Thursday afternoon. There are lots of tests coming, and I know that, but I will review at the last day before test.https://www.psychologytoday.com/basics/procrastination I believe that most people share the same experience with me: The homework you received in holiday , you always have written names on the first week of the holiday, but you will only begin to write it in the last week; at the beginning of the semester, they plan to study hard for the final exam. However, when you got to the last moment, he begin to read books; in the morning, you get up and see his toothpaste running out; you still had no toothpaste in the morning and had to put his head on the bridge to make sure that there was a road before the mountain. When we wait until the moment comes, we are soberly aware that we can no longer delay. In order to be able to complete the task, we will not hesitate to sacrifice the rest time, work overtime even if they are exhausted, we have to do it, and it is gratifying that the final situation can often be completed. From that moment onwards, we began to feel that delays did not seem to be impossible, because we had not yet reached the point where we could not be saved and we did not return to heaven. Even if we delay again, we will always be able to live steadily and steadily. No matter how hard the struggle was done, it was still the case. Before the exam, it was over and over. The things that must be done were exhausted and finally completed. We begin to have the illusion that we have enough ability to sprint at the last minute and then still reach the finish on time. We start bragging about showing off to others: “Although I drag things to the end, I don't finish it.” But in fact, I think carefully. Is it still our initial expectation that we will delay the final completion? Is it our intention to leave when we leave all the way? When we vowed at the starting point, do we think that the future is such a form of confession to be willing? In fact, we ourselves are very clear that we can do better if we do not delay. As we delay one step further, our feet will take a step back, and the bottom line of our own request will be lowered a little. The final destination will be farther away from perfection. We have procrastinated for a long time, but we cannot delay the length of our lives. In essence, we are still wasting our lives. You must know that your whole life is so long. Some things are not done right now. You may not be able to do it later. There will always be one day when we no longer have the ability to procrastinate. The time limit is approaching. The unfinished business is not completed. We can only blame the rest of our time for our laziness, blame our own fault, and accept the result with remorse. People who cannot change procrastination are ultimately small people, and great people are not only great people at the last minute.
The great people shoulder tremendous pressure and mission from the very beginning, and they always keep their minds in mind. Prepare for the future when others haven't realized it yet. Every minute is fighting and you don't stop to rest. In the end, they can still face calmly and smile. In fact, we do not need to find any excuse to hide our delay. The delay is not terrible. The fear is that the delay is not repentance. Occasionally tired to rest, but the beginning of the heart can not be forgotten, and their time spent wasted due to delay in another form of work, must not be wrong again, dragged on again. Haobo L Health and fitness is so important today when it comes to our bodies and our brain. When you wake up do you usually slug out of bed hoping there’s coffee in the pot? I do… I’m very guilty of drinking 2 cups of coffee in the morning because I’m so exhausted and need that extra kick. Coffee is not the best way to start your morning. If you load up on caffeine and sugar in the morning what are you going to do for the rest of the day? As an alternative, I like to start with a smoothie or something with protein like an egg to get the right amount of nutrients I need to start the day. This past week I have been waking up early and doing some yoga or a short wake up exercise video. A video that I follow sometimes is on YouTube her name is Casey Ho and it’s called “Wake up with me workout”. I feel more energetic and ready for the day now even without coffee! I feel as though my health is improving just from doing this simple 10 minute video every morning. I struggle with the consistency part though, I always say I’m going to keep with it but, let’s be honest I really don’t want to get up at 6:30 every morning. What I find is that the more I actually get up and follow the video the more I enjoy it. I feel my morning routines help keep up my mental and physical health. When I push myself out of bed and on a yoga matt, I end up looking forward to the early mornings so I can feel woke by a calm wave of energy getting me ready for the day. If your like me I don’t like to go to the gym and see people I know, something about it I find uncomfortable. I usually workout at home or go for runs with my dog. I try and find ways to motivate myself to actually finishing a workout video or a run. If I do a 10 minute video I can take a 2 minute phone break while I’m still up and moving, or whenever I go for a run I stop by the store and buy myself an iTunes card. I never stop trying to get myself to leave the safe and warmth of my house, I do this by trying to set goals for myself. One day I go for a 15 minute run, I tell myself tomorrow I go 10 more minutes and then 20 and then 30, I am constantly reassuring myself that I can do that extra block on a run or I can do that extra 5 minute cardio video. If you are constantly putting yourself down and telling yourself that u can’t do it or don’t want to do it, obviously you are not going to workout or eat healthier. You need to feed yourself confidence by saying that you can eat better and you can run further. Health and fitness are 2 very important things needed for a successful and happy life. Not only eat healthy but your brain needs to be healthy too, As in not corrupted by the drama of people or your friends around you. People often forget to take care of themselves before the others around them.
Sophia Ross Have you ever been thrown into a situation where you are chosen to lead a bunch of people and delegate them tasks that maybe they don’t want to do? I’ve been there too, and it’s a tough situation. Delegating tasks may seem very simple and straight-forward, but for “quiet” leaders it’s much harder. Some leaders do it with such ease that nobody ever seems to question them, and everyone just has a giant amount of mutual respect. Other times when you’re handing out tasks, you overthink, and you mess up, and put yourself through so much unnecessary stress because you don’t want to mess up in front of all these people, and you want to be seen as a good leader. In the type of class that we are in, delegating tasks are vital because as students, they give us a huge opportunity to show off all of the skills we have learned from the class to our peers, and to the community. Delegation is assigning any responsibility or authority to another person to carry out specific activities. People tend to delegate tasks to certain people who specialize in that area, they wouldn’t give someone who doesn’t know how to fix a computer the task of fixing a computer. An important part of delegation is making sure that your teammates understand why they need to accomplish their tasks. Explaining this need gives you the chance to relate the tasks to the goals of your organization. This will help your teammates understand your team’s objective and will help them understand what they are working towards, rather than going in blindly. The following tips are here to help you know how to delegate tasks properly:
Ways you can personally improve your delegation skills are: learn to let go, state the things that are priorities, play to your workers’ strengths, always include instructions, never be afraid to teach them new skills, and trust them. Delegation skill is the ability to effectively assign task responsibility and authority to others. In other words, delegation skill is your ability to get things done by using work and time of other people. Also, a major reason why employees resist change in the workroom is because of poor management skills who don’t take charge and properly delegate their employees the tasks they should be. I know for me personally I tend to overthink, and second-guess myself whenever I am in a leader situation, and when everyone is relying on me I sometimes feel like I can’t rely on myself. For my own personal leadership, delegating tasks is the hardest thing to do when you have been put in a leadership position, because you have to deal with a lot of different personalities wanting to do the same task, or somebody doesn’t get to do the task they want, and you’re to blame. After researching this, I wish I had seen these tips earlier, so that I wouldn’t freak out every time I was put into a leadership position.
Connor N Fear. It’s something we’ve all had, all our lives. From the monsters living under your bed; the ghosts of your teachers chasing you down a dark hallway with all your missing assignments; to getting up in front of a crowd; fears come in all shapes and sizes. So how do we overcome even the biggest ones? We, as a society accept fear and impending doom as the only option, despite positive and safe outcomes. In a Canadian poll probing irrational anxieties amongst the public, examiner Allan Gregg asked, “If someone told you something was safe and someone else told you the same thing was unsafe, which one would you believe?” Gregg then found afterward that a surprising 68% of Canadians would accept the message of unsafety without question whatsoever. Why is that? When it comes to being a leader and broadening your leadership skills bank, fear needs to be something you rule out. It doesn’t have to be right away, but in the end, you can’t lead in fear. Whether it’s the constant fear of failure, criticism, making decisions, responsibility, etc, we can’t better ourselves as leaders if we brood in the idea of it. A true, courageous leader addresses fear right in the face. For example, if you fear failure, don’t let that be an option. Don’t let the thought of failure even cross your mind.Yes, failure is inevitable, but it’s a lot less likely when you don’t think of it. Imagine yourself in all the best scenarios, never the worst. On the other side of all your fears, is everything you’ve ever wanted. Freedom. Part of that fear of failure is also a huge fear of ourselves. We fear it because for once, it means looking in the mirror instead of pointing fingers. When it comes to fearing failure it also means fearing success and it affects every aspect of our lives. As humans, we refuse to take charge of our own fate, yet we complain endlessly about the situation we are in. Eleni Makedonas shares her moving story on how she overcame her fear of herself and her potential.
There are so many fears when it comes to leadership and they all affect us differently. When we’re leading in fear we make horrible decisions because fear makes us blind. If we’re hiding under the bed we can’t see what’s right in front of us. Which usually, in the end, is something that isn’t that scary. The crucial thing isn’t for a leader to be fearless but to overcome fear when they face it. Emma O |
