At some point in life, I think we've all struggled with motivation. As humans we want to feel motivated and to find the meaning in the things that we do. Motivation is an extremely tricky concept. Occasionally, we are able to get motivated, and we find ourselves wrapped up in excitement. Most times, it's practically impossible to figure out how to motivate ourselves and we end up in a non-ending spiral of procrastination. Personally, I struggle with motivation on a day to day basis. I think it's safe to say as soon as I wake up. I have to motivate myself to get out of my bed. This is REALLY hard for me because I have a very comfortable bed, and many pillows. School also plays a big role in lost motivation for me, due to unmotivated teachers, a lack of interest in many school subjects/activities, and ect….. Whenever I get a task, whether that be an assignment or life things. I immediately had a fixed mindset on that task. This was something that was not working for me. However, throughout my life, the most surprising thing i've learned about motivation; is that whenever I have started looking at a task with a new mindset and attitude, that dreadful task became easier to do. There are four different types of motivation we fall into, Extrinsic Motivation: Extrinsic motivation comes from outside us. We do it because we are impelled to, This is effective for simple activities, it is less useful when you want a person to be self-driven. Intrinsic Motivation: Intrinsic motivation is done for internal reasons.motivated by working for an inspiring leader or in areas where they have a personal interest. Introjected Motivation: Introjected motivation is similar to intrinsic motivation in that it is internalized. The distinctive aspect of this is that if it is not done, then the person feels the tension of guilt. Identified Motivation: Identified motivation is where a person knows that something needs doing but has not yet decided to do anything about it. I think the essence of motivation is perfectly explained by Steven Pressfield when he says “At some point, the pain of not doing it becomes greater than the pain of doing it.” Albuna Maliqui

I can agree with you, that motivation isn't easy as it seems, but we have all been there. Motivation is quite hard in the morning for me aswell, to have a mindset on what the day may bring and what I have to overcome. I defenetly can relate to intrinsic motivation, my passion pushes me to motivate myself and get things done to have more time on my hands, overall I think that this blog was really eye opening, and made me realize I'm not the only one going through the rough patches of motivation

Great blog albuna. I sometimes struggle with motivation too, especially if I don't really care about something, for example analysing poetry as an assignment. In order to finish that assignment I then need extrinsic motivation, for example through grades, otherwise I would never finish. But If I need to go practice for golf I have an endless amount of motivation for that.

I really enjoyed reading this blog. I can relate to the part about not having the motivation to get up in the morning because I also have a very comfortable and warm bed.

I really liked how you talked about the different kinds of motivation (or lack thereof) and what motivation looks like and how it affects you in your daily life.

Interesting topic choice albuna. I’ve always struggled with being motivated for things I do not care that much about. Learning about these different kinds of motivation definetly helped me have a different perspective on my motivation issues and I will for sure be using this knowledge in the future.

I think motivation is a very important topic. I definitely agree with you that it is a tricky concept for a lot of us to learn how to do. I think it's a very powerful life skill that I think needs to be taught at school in more depth. I used to have a lot of issues with it, but in the last few years, I've kind of figured out what works for me. I think that is one reason motivation is so tricky- we all find motivation in different ways and from different places- and what works for some may not work for others. Thank you for including the different types of motivation too, because sometimes motivation is an overwhelming term and often is lumped together.

This blog is very well structured; I like how you introduced the concept of motivation, then refined your findings by categorizing the different types of motivations. I have a hard time getting out of bed too!

This is a good and very relatable blog. I know how you feel but also at the same time I like school and I love what I'm learning and my teachers are great, so I know that I'm lucky I have a lot of intrinsic motivation to do well in school and to love every minute of it because I just genuinely enjoy school. But it's really tough when you lack motivation when you need to do something you don't want to do

This blog was very interesting to me. I actually think I lack multiple types of motivation that was shown in the blog in various aspects of my life. I found this blog very helpful for me to identify these different types of motivation and how I can improve on them.
