Do you know the feeling of self pressure? How do you define self pressure? I define self pressure as something that you require or expect on yourself. You can pressure yourself in different life situations or example in school, friends or hobby. I think self pressure could be great. I need self pressure so that I can reach goals, get better, work with more concentration and work faster. Without any self pressure I would be lazy. But it isn't healthy when self pressure makes our life worse. So don’t ignore the pressure. Don't ignore symptoms of your body. When you have the feeling you should take a break, have a break. I'm not sure if you know the feeling of self pressure and I don't know how self pressure looks like for your case. But for example when you worked hard the whole week for school and you went late to bed and woke up super early. Take the time and go to bed early or sleep off the next day. It could be healthy and helpful to have a break between your activities and take a rest for a moment. Instead of going forward and ignoring all the signals that your body sending you. If you ignore all signals you will have probably one day a big problem. Where you have to take a break for a longer term. In case of one day. I know a person who worked hard for 3 years .He didn't take any breaks. The result
was that he was burnt out and depressed. He only worked for his goals. His goal was to get a 0.8 average. He got it. Then he started to study psychology and build a business. He Got it. He achieved all his goals but he didn't take any breaks. So the result was that he had to take a huge break. But self pressure doesn't have to look like this. I also can see it by myself in small situations. For example when I felt sick, I had to go to the gym because my goal is it to go 4 times in the week to the gym. But I knew it would be better when I go to the gym when I'm completely healthy again. But I saw that I can achieve my goal and so I went to the Gym. The result was that I was really sick the next day and I couldn’t go to the gym for a longer term. Emily P

I enjoyed reading this! A good reminder to take a break. I am working on finding different ways to take a break (physical activity, meditation etc in shirt but regular intervals.)

I liked this blog because it spoke about your personal experiences. Self pressure is either a good thing or you end up pushing yourself way way too hard. It’s good to find a state where you have a good self pressure self love relationship . Thank you for sharing !!!

Nice Blog. Even though I don't this problem that much, I still put a ton of pressure on myself. Sometimes I even put pressure on myself if it is not necessary. Sometimes you really need to take your time and relax.

I think that people these days have so much pressure on themselves that the pressure from others isn’t nearly as close to the pressure they have on their own shoulders. Learning how to cope with self pressure is something everyone works on throughout their life. Pressure to impress your parents and get into a good school after high school is a lot. Decreasing that stress is something that everyone should work on and it is a great point to acknowledge.

I find this blog really relatable because we all put pressure on ourselves or have some sort of stress bringing us down at certain points. A good way to to reduce stress is to just take a break. Even just takings a few breaths can help us restart. Your blog had a good example of how putting so much pressure on ourself can result in a downfall.

Thank you for sharing. In our career, we will face a lot of pressure, but not all the pressure comes from the outside world. Many times it comes from us. We have certain requirements for ourselves. We need to find the right balance between stress and release so that we can urge us to move forward instead of disrupting our spirits

With the workload from school and life I always thiught it was only other people pressuring me to do really good but I came to realise that it was all self pressure. This blog was a nice reminder that taking breaks is important.

This is such a relevant and important thing, especially for students. Its definitely important to work hard etc but we often forget to stop ad take care of ourselves and what we need so that we can continue doing what we want to. What's best for us in the long run is too often looked over by what seams best for us in the present. Thanks for writing about this and bringing this important subject to the conversation.

Thanks for this insightful story! I also think that self pressure is one of the factors in my life that makes me reach my goals and accomplish success. Self pressure makes me successful in school, sports, and other activities and that’s why I think it’s important.

I really liked this topic, especially with the flex assembly we had today. I think it's great that you showed a solution (it's okay to take a break) and I loved how you gave examples that demonstrated the long and short term effects!

Thanks for sharing! I really like this blog because I think it applies to two types of people, the people that pressure themselves too much, and the people that need to pressure themselves even more. Therefore I think it’s a good lesson to learn to find the balance of self pressure.

I like this blog- very relevant. Personally I find it really hard to take breaks because there is always something with school I can be doing because I have a heavy course load this year. I like that you talked about how not taking breaks can lead to you having to take longer breaks in the future and burning out. I need to work on this- during the week I am usually up past midnight doing homework every night and then the weekend I dont have enough time to catch up on sleep so I am continuously on a sad sleepy wheel of self-hatred for never being able to take a break.

Interesting topic choice Emily. I haven’t seen this one on the website before. I never really think about this kind of stuff so you bringing it to light definitely gives me a broader outlook on my issues and overworking myself. I tend to focus really hard in the things I have a passion for and care about and I find that these are the things that are the most taxing mentally. This information is definetly going to help me in the future.

I think this article is very good. Many people ignore their physical health for their own goals. This is wrong. We should slowly achieve our dreams on the basis of good health

i struggle with a lack of self pressure because I let myself have to many breaks. And i always do something else instead of the things that i need to get done.
